Handheld DCP and Data Acquistion System
Dynamic Cone Penetrometer and Data Acquisition System (DCP/DAS)

Accurate and Simple Data Acquisition
VERTEK's Dynamic Cone Penetrometer Data Acquisition System (DCP-DAS) is designed to operate with the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP), automatically measuring and recording the depth of penetration and number of drops, for evaluation of the in situ strength of pavement base, subbase, and sub grade materials. DCP-DAS data is recorded in an electronic format that can be easily downloaded to a computer for further analysis.
Cost-Effective One Person Operation
Automatic data acquisition allows one-person operation, reducing testing cost, while improving the accuracy of the data collected. Windows-based software is user-friendly and the sturdy construction is designed to withstand the rigors of field use.
DCP-DAS Operation
The DCP-DAS uses a low power consumption microprocessor interface with weatherproof touchscreen. The displacement of the DCP is monitored with a string potentiometer, which is attached to a hook on the DCP rod anvil. The DCP-DAS records the number of hammer drops and the penetration depth per drop. This data is recorded in memory and can be uploaded to a computer at the end of the day or as necessary.
DCP-DAS Data Analysis
DCP-DAS data is uploaded to a PC, then analyzed using one of several "shareware" programs to obtain soil and pavement parameters. PCASE software and other computer programs that can read a standard ASCII fi le may be used.
